About me

Hi, my name's Amanda - I am the Web Coordinator at Women's Professional Soccer, which basically means that I manage womensprosoccer.com and develop our social media marketing campaign.

I've been involved in soccer all my life. I played in Tucson, AZ, and was an ODP player when I was young... then I went to the University of Wyoming where I was a collegiate student-athlete and team captain for my Junior and Senior seasons. I studied communications.

In 2001, I packed up and moved East to work as the Graduate Assistant Soccer Coach at The College of New Jersey, while simultaneously selling Real Estate in Pennington and earning my M.S. in Educational Technology. At 24, I was hired as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at New York University so I moved to (a tiny studio apartment in) Manhattan and worked there for 4 years. I hold my USSF B Coaching License and NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and worked as Region 1 ODP Senior Staff while I was on the East Coast. I also volunteer my time as the Chair of the NSCAA Women's Committee.

2 summers ago, I left NYU to moved to the Silicon Valley to pursue my passions in technology... I was hired straight away as the Director of a start-up. That was short-lived though, because in June 2008, I moved to the midwest help start the Chicago Red Stars WPS franchise as the Director of Online Marketing, Website and Camps.

I moved back to San Francisco, CA, in December to accept this awesome position with the League... and I love everything about it! :-) So there you have it. Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you want to talk WPS, NSCAA or anything soccer-related.

College Cup Poll and Interview Questions

Hey guys, Amanda here from the WPS League office. I'm headed to the NCAA Final Four in College Station, TX, this weekend, and no, before you ask, I don't have any predictions ...well, none that I'm prepared to make public that is. But you can certainly cast your vote below (sorry about the weird spacing) and we can see what the Fan Corner consensus is on who the winner will be.

Also, I'm credentialed as a member of the media so I'll be able to interview players (*ahem* potential draft picks *ah… Continue

Spammers Be Gone

Hey everybody,

Amanda here from the WPS Web Department. I've noticed a bit of spam in the Fan Corner lately, so I wanted to send a note and let you know we're doing our best to Ban Members that appear to be link-dropping, selling products, or pitching unrelated items. I'm generally pretty good about catching them blogging and immediately deleting the Profiles, but if you see spammy posts in the Forums… Continue

In honor of Charlotte Moran

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share the passing of our friend and women's soccer champion, Charlotte Moran. Charlotte passed away peacefully early this morning at her home after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Thank you to WPS- this is truly an honor to be the featured member of the Fan Corner!- hopefully it's not just because it is a slow WPS news week, as we know there is always a lot going on in the world of Women's soccer! Hopefully more and more fans decide to join all of us in all the teams Social media efforts- Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, our team websites, and of course womensprosoccer.com!

Hey Amanda! Photos are posted on my "oxygen" blog - but no idea how to make the formatting look anywhere decent. This is what happens when someone like me blogs - LOL.

Los Angeles Sol Pre / Post Inaugural Match Day Party

Hey so I'm trying to see if anybody is interested in having a pre or post Inaugural Match Day Party in Los Angeles. We can maybe meet up at a sports bar or whatever and just hangout / meet fellow soccer fans. This won't be a viewing party because most of us will be going to the game. So we can meet Saturday or Sunday but obviously before the game which may be a bit hard since its at 3pm. Or we can just have a post party.

Please let me know if you guys have any suggestions on where you guys want to meet. It will be better at a place near the Home Depot Center. So far the list is:

1. Leyla
2. Carmela (flying in from Chicago so you know she is hardcore fan)
